About

I've spent my career building software in environments where accuracy, usability, and reliability matter. Early in my career, that included supporting a live weather integration used during ABC's Good Morning America broadcasts. Later, I moved into medical imaging, regulated laboratory software, high-volume payments, and civic technology.

At Thermo Fisher, I led development of laboratory applications used in regulated scientific workflows. At Siemens, I built imaging and visualization software for the Sequoia ultrasound platform. These roles taught me how much thoughtful interface design matters when users are working with complex information.

At Walmart, I returned fully to web application development and eventually led front-end engineering for payment experiences including EBT SNAP, WIC, PayPal, Affirm, and credit cards. I particularly enjoyed the work that crossed team boundaries: turning complicated requirements into reusable components, improving accessibility and testing practices, and helping teams understand the complete customer journey.

Across these roles, I've brought hands-on front-end engineering, systems thinking, and a practical approach to making complex software easier for people to use and teams to maintain.

How I Work

A few principles that have shaped how I build software and work with teams.

Build quality into the work

I've worked in environments where a checkout bug means lost revenue and a compliance miss means legal exposure. That taught me to treat quality as a feature, not a phase.

Include accessibility from the beginning

I'd rather catch a violation in a lint rule than discover it in a production audit. I've built accessibility tooling and automated checks, and shipped payment systems with zero blocker a11y bugs.

Understand the complete workflow

I look beyond the interface to understand the business rules, data flow, system dependencies, and operational constraints behind it. That broader view helps me make front-end decisions that work across the whole system.

Improve the systems around the code

Whether it's refactoring a test suite to remove flaky mocks, strengthening automated checks, or writing incident response runbooks, I invest in the engineering practices that make software easier to change and operate.

Build shared understanding

I help teams build shared context through workshops, documentation, and hands-on learning. I've led sessions on accessibility and design patterns, explained complex laboratory workflows, and created onboarding guides that help new team members contribute sooner.

What keeps me inspired

Outside of engineering, I value time spent travelling, visiting art museums, exploring architecture and trying new recipes.
